Cabinet raises aid for deceased employees' families, approves artist welfare fund

LAHORE:

The caretaker Punjab cabinet has approved the minimum support price of wheat at Rs4,000 per maund.

The decision was taken in a meeting held in Gujranwala.

The caretaker cabinet also decided to increase the financial assistance package for the family members of government employees who pass away during service. It approved the provision of funds for establishing an endowment fund for the welfare of artists.

Other approvals included the revision of inspection fees for transport vehicles and additional funds from the Punjab government’s resources for the construction and maintenance of the Sargodha-Mianwali road under the PSDP. The caretaker cabinet expressed dissatisfaction at the efforts of the irrigation department for the recovery of dues.
