Mother reports son's alleged assault by school van driver

A 12-year-old specially-abled student has been sexually assaulted at a school for special children in the Mehrabad area of Westridge police station in Rawalpindi.

According to a spokesperson for the police, the accused, who drives the school's van, was taken into custody by the police. He said the suspect has confessed to committing the heinous crime stating that he sexually assaulted the child in a residential area. The issue came to the fore when the mother of the special child, who studies in the second grade, told the Westridge police that her 12-year-old son is a special child and attends Hasan Academy, a school for special children. When the boy came home from school, he told his mother that the school van driver had sexually assaulted him at school.

The police registered a case against the school administration and the accused identified as Shehzad and took him into custody. Westridge SHO Zahid Zahoor said the medical examination of the child has also been conducted and all the legal requirements will be fulfilled to punish the accused.

He said the accused resides in Islamabad and during the preliminary investigation, he revealed that he has sexually abused children by threatening them. Further investigation into the case is underway.
