‘Husband’ and his cousin are reportedly involved in the murder

The Defence police have solved the mystery of the body found in DHA Phase VII in less than 24 hours and are conducting raids to nab the culprit involved in the murder.

According to details, SHO Defence police station Shaukat Hayat Awan confirmed that the woman’s body found near Fatima Masjid on Friday night has been identified. During the investigation, the involvement of the suspected culprit has also become apparent.

The woman identified as Hasina, was living with a person named Hazratullah for the past one-and-a-half years.

They had recently moved to a house in Qayyumabad a month ago. Circumstances behind the murder will be revealed after the arrest of Hazratullah, the SHO said, adding, Hazratullah and his cousin, Shoaib, are potentially involved in the woman’s murder. They reportedly hail from the Tak area of Waziristan.

In response to a query, he explained that they received confidential information about a house in Qayyumabad where a woman and a man had been missing since November 14. The police raided the mentioned place with a search party where they found an old photograph of the deceased wearing a wedding dress, along with photocopies of her and Hazratullah’s identity cards, clothes, and other items.

 Attempts are underway to locate the heirs of the deceased woman, who probably hails from Rahim Yar Khan. If no relatives of the deceased emerge, the police will file a case on behalf of the state.

The post-mortem report is awaited to determine the cause of death, while the police have collected some evidence regarding the murder and are conducting investigations to arrest those involved in the murder. Police are also gathering information from the landlord.
