As Pakistani celebrities continue to rally for an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine, actor Ayeza Khan has once again drawn flak for her approach to the ongoing crisis. The Chupke Chupke recently spoke up in support of Palestine after a long silence but took down the post after receiving backlash.

Taking to her Instagram, Ayeza clarified her position, contending that her previous post had been misconstrued. “I would like to take a moment to address an issue that has been misinterpreted and circulated. I won’t attempt to justify or explain because God knows that my intentions were not malicious, but I may have failed to articulate it well,” she penned.

The celebrity furthered on, “I take full responsibility for this, both personally and on behalf of my team. I sincerely apologize to those who were hurt by my statement. I appreciate you all for bringing this matter to my attention, as I, too, am only human. I take full responsibility and assure you all that nothing of such sort shall ever happen again.”

Expressing her sentiments on Palestinians’ suffering, she said, “I empathize with the pain our people are experiencing amidst this cruelty. But I feel helpless and deeply saddened when I see what is happening.” Ayeza reiterated her belief in divine intervention, adding, “While my awareness may not bring an immediate resolution, I maintain faith in Allah in the possibility of change through prayer.”

The actor capped her apology note by insisting upon collective prayer in addition to raising awareness. “For indeed, we need Him and His divine help. My prayers are with the Palestinians,” she stated. Previously, Ayeza was criticised for not using her platform to speak up about Palestine.

In a post that posed the question, "Why are you not posting?" in reference to raising awareness about Palestine, Ayeza redirected the focus to the power of prayer. She articulated her belief that daily prayers hold more significance than daily social media posts, urging followers to pray fervently for the world and to avoid blame or finger-pointing on the platform.

"Because I know that praying daily is more powerful than posting daily," said the Chand Tara actor said in response to the query posed. "Please pray for the world as much as you all can and avoid pointing fingers and blaming each other on this platform. We all have children and loved ones, and we can all feel the pain. We cannot imagine how painful it is for them, but I am keeping my faith in Allah, and very soon, Allah will bring justice, Ameen."
