I was not married when I pursued Sanam: Mohib Mirza addresses cheating rumours

Actor stated only he has access to his divorce deed, not Wikipedia

Actor Mohib Mirza has set the record straight after allegations spread against him of cheating on Aamina Sheikh with Sanam Saeed. The Razia star discussed the incriminating rumours with host Adnan Faisal of podcast FHM Pakistan. When asked how his romance with Sanam began, Mohib addressed Adnan head-on.

“Do you want me to recall the Nida Yasir story?” he asked in response to social media users accusing him of cheating. “Your issue is the assumption that I was cheating [on Aamina],” Mohib added.

While hosting his own talk show with Nida Yasir and Shaista Lodhi as guests – both of whom also hosts by profession – Mohib revealed how he first approached second wife, Sanam. Previously married to actor Aamina Sheikh, the Dukhtar star eventually tied the knot in 2021 and announced his marriage earlier this year.

Addressing the wide public perception that followed the episode, the Dil Ruba actor further prompted, “Who is assuming this?” before rubbishing the charges. “I was not married when I got involved with Sanam.”

Mohib slammed his critics for forming baseless assumptions without evidence. “How do you know? Do you have my divorce certificate or does Wikipedia have it?” He reiterated unambiguously, “My marriage had ended when I pursued Sanam.”

The celebrity furthered on, “No one here can question this because I have my divorce deed and I know the reality.” He also commented on keeping marriage with Sanam under wraps for a long time, adding, “If I don’t want to announce it even now, it’s my choice.”

Mohib disclosed details of the small and intimate Nikkah ceremony that happened at Sanam’s house with only five guests in attendance. “No one else has probably had a Nikkah as simple as mine.” The actor also shared that marriage life is treating the two actors-turned-couple well.

Social media users expressed mixed reactions when the news of Mohib’s second marriage to Sanam broke out, with many taking to trolling and blaming him for divorce with Aamina. The actor met the Cake star while shooting for 2018 TV serial Deedan.

Recalling his love confession at the mountainside locality of the series’ shoot, Mohib previously remarked, “That’s where I expressed my feelings. And I can see the girl right in front of me, no need to look down,” referencing to Sanam’s tall physique.

Mohib shares a daughter, Meissa, with his ex-wife Aamina. Upon new beginnings, he said on Munib Nawab’s podcast earlier that he believes in second chances and living his life to the fullest. About Sanam, he simply said, “Sanam means beloved and Mohib means a lover and rest is self-explanatory.”
