CJP delegates certain powers to registrar

Registrar will be fully empowered in matters related to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC)

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa has delegated several of his administrative powers to the Supreme Court registrar.

According to a notification, the registrar will be fully empowered in matters related to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

The decision of the registrar on issues related to the PAC will be subject to the approval of the full court or the chief justice. The registrar will perform matters related to Audit and Departmental Accounts Committee with the approval of the top judge. The annual budget plan of the apex court will also be finalized with the approval of the chief justice.

On the other hand, the top court has issued a cause list for hearing important cases next week and formed five benches for the purpose.

A three-member bench headed by CJP will hear 48 cases whereas a three-member bench led by Justice Ijazul Ahsan will hear 70 cases. A three-member bench headed by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah will hear 56 cases while a similar bench led by Justice Munib Akhtar will hear 45 cases.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Yahya Afridi will conduct hearing on 70 cases.
