KARACHI, PAKISTAN:

Former home minister of Sindh and MQM leader, Rauf Siddiqui has invited former caretaker prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to join MQM, saying that lower middle class is the only solution for the country's development.

He expressed these views while talking to the media after he appeared in the accountability court.

Siddiqui said, he has been facing cases for eight years. He said, MQM does not want any relief in the court proceedings but the party wants a fair decision from the courts. He mentioned, he has been acquitted in many cases earlier, and so he expects he will be acquitted in current case as well.

Rauf Siddiqui said, "What should I apologise for?" If cases have been made against me, I am facing it. The case against all those who made the cases has been filed in the court of Allah. Those who made the 'fake and baseless' cases will have to answer there.

Rauf Siddiqui has said that many MQM leaders and workers spent many years in jails. There is no question of forgiveness, pardons are for elites, courts open day and night for the elite class.

Siddiqui met Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in NAB court and on behalf of MQM he invited him to join MQM. Siddiqui said that the lower middle class is the only solution for the country's development.

Abbasi informed Rauf Siddiqui, "The vice president of MQM in Lahore is from my village." Siddiqui read out a poem of Jaun Elia for Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. He requested Siddiqui to read the poem again for him.

Rauf Siddiqui said that Khaqan Abbasi will think and decide about joining the MQM and will see on the day when the election will be held.

Earlier, a reference hearing regarding illegal recruitment in the Sindh Small Industries Department (SSID) during a period from 2008 to 2014, causing a loss of Rs420 million to the national exchequer, was held in the Karachi Accountability Court.

MQM leader Rauf Siddiqui and other accused appeared in the court. The court adjourned the hearing of the reference till December 12 without taking any action.
