A chance for Pakistan: Celebs commend Maxwell for playing the best ODI innings of all time

Many congratulated the Australian cricketer online while requesting the Pakistani team to do better now

In an extraordinary World Cup match on Tuesday, Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell showcased unparalleled determination against Afghanistan by playing an iconic double-century innings of 201 runs off just 128 balls, despite battling cramps and back issues. Maxwell's heroic effort, marked by 21 fours and 10 sixes, left the cricketing world in awe and secured Australia's spot in the World Cup semifinals with 12 points.

Australia's triumph also carries great significance for Pakistan. Maxwell's double century has made it impossible for the teams below Australia to catch up. As a result, Pakistan would now hope for New Zealand to not secure two points in their match against Sri Lanka and for South Africa to defeat Afghanistan. In this scenario, Pakistan could secure a semifinal berth by simply defeating England.

Needless to say, the fate of the semi-finalist depends entirely on forthcoming matches, and not on Maxwell’s victory. Pakistani celebrities and cricket enthusiasts albeit are celebrating the opportunity it has given to the Pakistani team to redeem itself in the World Cup. Many have also taken to social media to express their admiration for Maxwell and the thrilling match.
