Hunting season begins in Sindh

Anyone interested will need to obtain a hunting permit

KARACHI:

The Sindh Wildlife Department has officially announced the launch of the hunting season in the province, which commences today (Sunday) and will conclude on March 3, 2024.

Anyone interested in hunting birds, including foreign visitors, will need to obtain a hunting permit, which is available for a fee of $100. Each permit allows hunters to take up to 10 pheasants and 15 grouse.

As outlined by the Sindh Wildlife Department’s announcement, hunting will be restricted to Saturdays and Sundays, and only with approved shotguns. However, hunting after sunset is strictly prohibited. Certain areas, such as Kirthar National Park, wildlife sanctuaries, cantonment areas, PAF bases, urban and rural boundaries, are off-limits for hunters.

During the season, wildlife emergency measures are in effect according to the regulations.
