Data centres to help apprehend undocumented foreigners in province

PESHAWAR/QUETTA:

Balochistan’s police force has taken significant steps to address the issue of undocumented foreigners residing illegally within the province. They have established six Data Command and Control Centers dedicated to the apprehension of these individuals. Caretaker Chief Minister, Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki, visited one of these centers in Quetta to oversee its operations and gain insights into the measures being implemented to maintain law and order, especially in the border areas of 
Balochistan.

During his visit, Domki expressed his satisfaction with the police’s efforts in dealing with the return of illegal immigrants and maintaining law and order. He stressed the importance of ensuring the well-being of vulnerable groups, such as women, children, and young people, throughout the entire process, emphasizing the need to provide them with necessary support.
A key highlight of the discussion was the role of technology in enhancing the province’s crime prevention 
mechanisms.  

The  implementation  of  a  computerized  FIR  (First  Information  Report)  system,  which  replaces the manual process, was discussed  as  a  crucial  step in delivering justice to victims more efficiently. The CM commended the record-keeping system that ensures up-to-date information, contributing to effective law enforcement.  

He also paid tribute to the brave martyrs of the Balochistan Police, who have worked tirelessly alongside other security forces to restore peace in the region. Domki pledged to provide the  necessary  resources  to modernize  and  equip  the police  force  with  the tools  and technology required to meet contemporary security challenges.

Accompanying  the  CM  during  his  visit  were  the  Caretaker Interior Minister, Mir  Zubair  Khan  Jamali,  Additional  Chief Secretary Interior Zahid Saleem, and other high-ranking officials. On another note, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa  ( K- P ) Caretaker Information Minister Barrister Feroz Jamal Kaka Khel reported  that 128,000 individuals  have  returned  to  Afghanistan  thus  far.  He emphasized the importance of deporting illegal immigrants with respect and warmly welcoming Afghan nationals returning to Pakistan with valid visas and passports.

The minister stressed that law and order and security are top priorities for both federal and provincial governments. He mentioned that the media is independently reporting the deportation of illegal Afghans, with no untoward incidents reported in the repatriation process. He made it clear that any mistreatment of Afghan families will not be tolerated, and a level playing field will be provided to all parties participating in the upcoming general elections.

He further highlighted the caretaker government’s constitutional obligation to ensure free and fair elections and pledged to act in accordance with the directives of the Election Commission of Pakistan
