Schoolchildren are encountering significant challenges during their daily commute to and from school in the vicinity of Dheri Makhan Colony Primary School in Haripur due to unpaved streets.
The unpaved streets in the neighbourhood are causing problems, especially when it rains, as pedestrians often slip and fall in the mud and soil their clothes.
The local representatives of Makhan Colony, who are expected to address these issues, have been conspicuously inactive, despite their claims of superior performance.
It's worth noting that this school also serves as a polling station for the female residents of Makhan Colony. However, while the school plays a pivotal role in the democratic process, the streets leading to it are in dire need of attention and repair.

Lamenting the situation, residents of nearby areas said this primary school is the only educational facility in the Makhan Colony area, and it's disheartening to see several young girls struggling to navigate the muddy terrain.
They said the entire neighbourhood is grappling with the challenges of the recent rainy weather, yet the responsible officials seem oblivious to their plight. Frustrated parents have expressed their concerns, stating that their daughters face difficulties commuting to and from the school due to its remote location.
Despite raising this issue with the Member of the National Assembly (MNA) and Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) representing the constituency, there has been no progress in addressing this pressing matter.
The concerned residents of the area are now urging the relevant authorities to take notice of their plea and promptly address the dire need for the repair of streets in their neighbourhood.
