PAKPATTAN:

Two men died when the motorcycle they had been riding was struck by a tractor-trolley near the Jhang Bridge, police said.

They said that the driver of the tractor-trailer had lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the motorcycle, killing Ishaq and Nadeem while a woman also sustained serious injuries.

Ishaq and Nadeem had been coming from Haroonabad.

The injured was identified as Ishrat Bibi. Rescue 1122 arrived at the scene of the accident and took her to hospital. An electricity pole was also knocked down due to the accident, and the supply of power to the adjacent area was cut off.

The family members of the two people who died in the accident protested at the hospital when the bodies of their loved ones were not handed over to them.

The relatives said that even after a six-hour-long wait, the hospital staff had not handed them the bodies of their loved ones.

They accused the hospital staff of asking for money.

“We are not wealthy people. How could we pay them? The staff supposed to perform the postmortem examination have not been seen for the last four hours,” they said.
