ISLAMABAD:

One person was killed in  the Golra area over a family dispute, the police sources said.

Roshan Nawaz, a resident of Golra, was shot dead by his relatives over a marriage dispute. Some seven months ago, Nawaz abducted a female cousin from Karak.

He brought her to Islamabad, where he had been living with his father for the last five years.

Later, he forcibly married her. He abducted her in retribution for a similar incident: nine years ago the woman’s brother abducted Nawaz’s sister and forcibly married her.

Although both families ‘settled’ the issue, on August 30, the girl’s brother and a friend of his friend came to the victim’s house. They stayed with the family for two days.

On Thursday, they planned to visit a park with Roshan Nawaz.

However, they took him to a jungle on a motorcycle, where they shot and killed Nawaz before fleeing. A passersby spotted the body and informed the police, who shifted it to a hospital for autopsy.
