Governor Meets Kba Team: Ebad dispels lawyers’ concerns

Sindh Governor appreciated the role of lawyers in upholding rule of law in the country.

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad appreciated the role of lawyers in upholding rule of law in the country. While talking to a delegation of the Karachi Bar Association (KBA) on Saturday, the governor said that the families of lawyers who were killed will be compensated.  The KBA delegation briefed the governor about the death of 22 lawyers in total, out of which14 were members of the KBA. The governor advised the delegation to set up an endowment fund for the welfare of lawyers and assured that the government will also contribute in it. He said that an annual grant will also be provided to the KBA and measures will be taken to provide them with security. A committee comprising of representatives of the home department has been set up, added Ebad.
