Thunder-showers bring hailstorm in Gadap Town

No significant likelihood of further rain in the city, some drizzle might occur, said PDM

Thunderstorms swept through the northern parts of the city, while one of its areas, Gadap Town, experienced hailstorms on Saturday. Despite these weather anomalies, the overall climate in the city remained warm and humid, with a maximum temperature of 33.9 degrees Celsius.

Moreover, at numerous locations, including Hub Dam, Gadap Town, Kathore, and city’s suburbs received downpours accompanied by thunder and lightning.

These refreshing showers occurred during the sunny intervals of the day.

Additionally, there were reports of hailstorm in the outskirts of Gadap Town, moderate rain in North Karachi and Surjani Town.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the rain in the city’s suburbs was a result of local development.

Thunderstorms originating over Balochistan shifted towards the Kirthar Range, leading to precipitation.

While there is no significant likelihood of further rain in the city, some drizzle might occur, said the PDM.

They also reported that 58 per cent of humidity was recorded in the city on Saturday.
