At least 19 people were killed and 1,222 were injured in 1,146 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) reported across Punjab during the past 24 hours.
Of the injured, 628 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 594 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams. The majority of RTCs, 72 percent, involved motorbikes.
Further analysis showed that 589 drivers, 45 underage drivers, 155 pedestrians and 497 passengers were among the victims of RTCs. The statistics show that 265 RTCs were reported in Lahore with 293 victims, placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list.
Multan followed behind with 79 RTCs and 75 victims and Faisalabad at third with 69 RTCs and 75 victims.
The details further reveal that 1,222 victims were affected by RTCs, including 993 males and 248 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 195 were under 18 years of age, 685 were between 18 and 40 years old and the remaining 361 victims were reportedly above 40 years of age.
