Former interior minister and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has been discharged from the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology Hospital, with doctors instructing him regular use of prescribed medicines along with complete bed rest.
On Monday night due to chest pain, Rashid was shifted to the RIC Hospital, where after initial medical examination, he was kept under the supervision of doctors.
According to RIC Hospital sources, the former interior minister was discharged from the hospital after a second medical examination. Rashid was told that he would be informed about the final results of heart readings taken on the machine, various test reports after consulting senior doctors.

After being discharged from the hospital, the AML chief left for home.
The hospital sources said that the doctors instructed Rashid to take prescribed medicines regularly along with complete bed rest.
At the hospital, various tests, including ECG, were taken, while various heart readings were also recorded through the machine. After checking the reports, the senior doctors will form a final opinion regarding the treatment.
