Elahi medically unfit to move, court told

The court was hearing a case registered against Elahi and others under different charges, including money laundering

The Adiala Jail authorities on Monday apprised the special central court that former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi cannot appear before it as he is medically unfit.

The court was hearing a case registered against Elahi and others under different charges, including money laundering – how millions of rupees came into the bank account of a Punjab Assembly’s low-wage employee and why he made inexplicable banking transactions in their bank accounts.

The jail authorities in a report apprised the court that Elahi was medically unfit due to which it was difficult for him to move anywhere.

The court asked who prepared the report.

The quarters concerned apprised the court that a team of doctors prepared it. However, the court adjourned proceedings.
