The Badin district police registered the First Information Report (FIR) for the deaths of six men belonging to Hindu community in Tando Ghulab Laghari area, allegedly caused by consumption of methylated spirit.
DSP Muhammad Usman Laghari told the local media that Suneel Kumbar Lohano, owner of a pharmacy in Tando Ghulab Laghari, which is accused of selling the spirit to the deceased, has also been apprehended and booked in the case.
The case has been lodged under sections 322 and 337 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the state's complaint by Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Zulfiqar Nizamani.
According to the FIR, the deaths occurred over a span of two days starting from October 15.

The deceased were identified as 28-year-old Haresh Meghwadh, 40-year-old Khemchand Meghwadh, 45-year-old Nangji Bajano, 50-year-old Fakeero Bajano, Aachar Bheel and Khanu Kolhi.
The DSP said that a crackdown has been launched against the pharmacies selling spirits for consumption as liquor to the people.
He added that the stock of spirit has also been seized from Lohano's shop.
According to him, the postmortem of four of the six deceased persons has been done but the reports are still awaited.
Earlier on Sunday, Badin SSP Qamar Raza Jiskani gave the incident's inquiry to SP Usman Laghari.
According to the police, the families of the deceased persons are reluctant to become complainants in the FIR.
However, they all have recorded their statements in which consumption of spirit surfaced to be the reason for the deaths.
