The Rawalpindi Commissioner, Laiqat Ali Chatha, has instructed the deputy commissioner to identify a suitable location within the next week for establishing a vegetable market to cater to the needs of Rawalpindi’s residents.
He was presiding over a meeting held at the Commissioner’s Office, Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
This initiative aims to offer an alternative to buying fruits and vegetables from the Islamabad market at higher prices. By creating a local market, it is expected that prices can be controlled more effectively, he added.
He directed the deputy commissioners of the four districts to compare their rate list with the rate list of other divisions. Rationalise prices should be fixed and price magistrates should be immediately be mobilised for their implementation.
