Zardari, Fazl consult over polls

The two political heavyweights also engaged in detailed discussions on the current political climate

ISLAMABAD:

Former president Asif Ali Zardari held a meeting with his former ally and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at the latter's residence on Monday.

The purpose of the meeting was to express condolences for the recent demise of the Maulana’s mother-in-law, according to a statement released by the JUI-F emir.

The two leaders also consulted over the prevailing political situation.

However, sources said that the meeting between the two political heavyweights lasted for approximately 50 minutes and the leaders also engaged in detailed discussions on the current political climate and the forthcoming general elections.
