Adab Festival geared for its fifth edition

'We aim to highlight importance of culture, literature in promoting debate and dialogue,' say founder Ameena

KARACHI:

Adab Festival, one of Pakistan's most prestigious celebrations of literature and art, announced here earlier today, the date and speakers for its fifth edition, scheduled to take place on November 25 and 26 at Habitt City, also the venue of its press conference. The conference was attended by a large gathering of print, social and electronic media.

Set to captivate audiences once again with a vibrant array of intellectual and artistic offerings at the festival, Ameena Saiyid, founder and director of Adab Festival said "We organise Adab Festival to highlight the importance of culture and literature in promoting debate and dialogue in order to bring about understanding. Hence, it gives me the greatest pleasure to unveil our remarkable lineup of speakers. In fact, Adab Festival has a remarkable history of success over the years. Since its inception, it Adab Festival has consistently ignited the flames of creativity and imagination."

Like in previous years, this year too, the Adab Festival promises to be an unforgettable experience featuring renowned luminaries including Dr Ishrat Hussain, Kishwar Naheed, Azad Iqbal, Iftikhar Arif, Tanvir Anjum, Stephen Lyon, Shahnaz Wazir Ali, Wasif Rizvi, Moeed Yusuf, Zehra Nigah, Dr Pirzada Qasim, Fatema Hasan, Nurul Huda Shah, Tariq Alexander Qaiser, Talib Karim, Omar Shahid Hamid, Zahid Hussain, Nasira Zubairi, Dr Anjum Halai, Hasan Khan, Salma Alam, Dr Huma Baqai, Inaam Nadeem, and many more.
