KARACHI:

Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) in its maiden meeting called for improving water supply to the citizen following a crackdown on the illegal hydrants in the city.

KWSC Chairman Mayor Murtaza Wahab chaired the meeting held at the Chairman Secretariat Karsaz on Monday.

The board decided to constitute financial, technical and advisory committees for the effective management of the corporation.

The meeting decided to focus on the development projects undertaken by the Water Corporation such as the K-4, Hub Canal Upgradation, Desalination and Waste Water Recycling projects, a special development committee will also be formed, it was directed that the Committee should periodically apprise the Board of the progress of these development projects to ensure their timely completion.

The board appreciated the good work done by the Corporation to increase the availability of water and increase the revenue of the Corporation, through which an effective and city-wide operation against illegal hydrants has been carried out.
