Gas leakage claims lives of three brothers

Man and his son killed by lightning strike in separate incident

Three real brothers Saturday lost their lives owing to the poisonous gas leakage while they were engaged in construction work in the Dhodial area of Manshera.

The three brothers were actively engaged in construction work at the residence when the incident occurred. They had been staying at the site.

On the evening of the incident, when they did not return home the family informed the police. Subsequently, the police reached the newly constructed house where they discovered the three brothers in the well. The deceased were identified as 36-year-old Zeeshan, 28-year-old Muneeb and 23-year-old Muhammad Umar.

Abbottabad Rescue 1122 team also reached the spot and initiated a rescue operation. After several hours of concerted efforts, the bodies were retrieved from the well and were shifted to the hospital for completing medico-legal formalities.

On the same day, a house in the Hari Nikah Bhoja area of Kaghan Valley was struck by lightning, resulting in the tragic loss of two lives.

According to sources, the victims were identified as Faiz Alam and his 10-year-old son Waqas, who was a student in third grade.

Other members of the family, including Faiz Alam's wife, sustained injuries, and their livestock perished in the incident.

Former District Council Member Mian Altaf Hussain has appealed to the authorities for assistance to the affected family.
