Imran ‘satisfied’ with procedure act verdict

'Past cases, like the Panama case, will no longer be reopened after the ruling,' say Barrister Zafar

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan expressed his satisfaction with the apex court ruling on the Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Act, senior lawyer Barrister Ali Zafar said, after meeting with the PTI chief in the Adiala Jail on Thursday.

Barrister Zafar met with Imran along with Gohar Khan, Umair Niazi, Mehmood Khan and Imran’s physiotherapist Dr Asim Younis. The other lawyers left after the meeting with the PTI chairman but Barrister Zafar and Dr Asim Younis spoke to the media persons outside the jail premises.

“Imran Khan is satisfied with the Supreme Court's decision. Past cases, like the Panama case, will no longer be reopened after the ruling,” Barrister Zafar said. He directed the lawyers to provide legal assistance to the detained party workers,” he added.

Dr Asim said that he checked Imran’s pulse, blood pressure, saturation level. He added that Imran felt some indigestion problem, therefore, he had recommended a test and some changes to his diet to the jail administration.

Responding to a question about the facilities in the jail, Barrister Ali Zafar said that PTI chairman had told him that it was a matter between him and the jail administration and that he had no worries.
