Educate yourself: Ushna, Osman slam 'deliberate ignorance' over Israel-Hamas clash

Actors took to social media to slam those who were 'revealing their bigotry'

Pakistani celebrities are battling it out on social media, sharing their takes on the one-sided Israel-Hamas clash. In response to a user spreading the news of Hamas' alleged atrocities (many of which have been debunked), Osman Khalid Butt took to X to give a fitting response.

"A pregnant woman in Southern Israel was found by Hamas terrorists. They dissected her body. Her stomach was cut open and they took the fetus out with the umbilical cord. And let the unborn child die slowly out of his mother’s womb. This is what inhuman savages Hamas do to people," said the user. When asked to provide evidence, given that the community notes on X stated that the report was of Israeli atrocities, the user stated, "The context is given by Hamas terror supporters and not Twitter," further saying that people debunking claims were spokespeople for Hamas.

In response to this, Osman replied, "Readers added context that directly contradicted this man’s claim - when asked to provide evidence backing his outrageous, damaging and unequivocally false statement, this is what he had to say. There is a special place in hell reserved for people like you, Aditya. His original tweet has been shared almost 20K times." Mahira Khan, on the other hand, shared a video of a Jewish author breaking down the context and power imbalance of the situation.

Ushna Shah, however, shared comedian Amy Schumer's post on Hamas' alleged atrocities and simply wrote, "Never found Amy Schumer funny, until now." The star also went on to share an Instagram Story of the context behind the retaliation, stating, "Dear Jewish/Zionist American acquaintances: Your deliberate ignorance is revealing your bigotry. It is evident you believe Jewish lives matter more than Arab ones. If your media and community are feeding you bias, it's on you to educate yourself and see the truth. Most of you are artists, you owe it to your craft to be compassionate human beings."
