The police in Samanbad successfully apprehended a suspect named Asif Parvez, residing in Bhangoria Goth Azizabad, who had allegedly harassed a girl within the jurisdiction of Azizabad police station.
The arrest came about with the assistance of CCTV footage that had captured the incident. The video of Asif engaging in inappropriate behaviour and gestures towards the girl has been widely circulated on social and mainstream media platforms.
In response to this, the spokesperson for the SSP Central took immediate action, instructing the SHO of Samanabad to ensure the suspect’s arrest.
Asif Parvez, who sells bakery items while riding a motorcycle, had initially fled the scene, abandoning his bike.
The arrested suspect confessed to his wrongdoing and expressed remorse. He committed not to engage in any such behaviour in the future.
Polio worker harassed
The police have taken into custody an individual suspected of harassing a female polio worker in the Liaquat Colony of Lyari.
According to the statement from DIG South, Asad Raza, the polio team had entered a residential building, and on the fifth floor, some individuals subjected the woman to harassment. Promptly, one individual was apprehended at the scene.
The arrested individual has been transferred to the Kalri police station. SSP City, Amjad Hayat, has identified the accused as Naseeb Gul, a resident of the same building where the polio worker had arrived. The police have contacted the victimised woman to facilitate the registration of a case against the accused, Naseeb Gul.
