Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha while presiding over the meeting held regarding the Rakh Dhamial graveyard said this graveyard is a long-standing problem of the people of Rawalpindi for the solution of which joint efforts of the administration and Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) have been proved fruitful.
Chattha said out of the 1,000 kanals of land allocated for the Rakh Dhamial graveyard, 450 kanals of land will be given to the RCB and CCB. “450 kanals have been allocated to the RMC and 100 kanals for the minorities,” he said.
The Rawalpindi commissioner said Rakh Dhamiyal graveyard will be made a model graveyard whose four walls have been completed.
“Funeral place is also ready, bus to carry dead bodies and ambulance facility is also available,” he said.
Chattha said the grave fee was fixed at Rs5,000 and the person who could not afford it would not be charged. “The RMC and RWMC will maintain the standard of cleanliness in the cemetery,” he said.
