FIA nabs human trafficking suspect

Official said that a strict crackdown is going on against the elements involved in heinous crimes of human trafficking

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Rawalpindi arrested a suspect involved in human trafficking.

According to the authorities, FIA team raided Jadoon Travel and Tourism Agency in Shamsabad which is allegedly involved in human trafficking.

The team also recovered 27 passports during the raid. The official said that the suspect could not even give a satisfactory answer regarding the passports, thus, they seized all the passports.

The owner of the agency, Sajjad Hussain Jadoon, managed to escape, said the official, adding that the arrested suspect is his partner.

The official said that a strict crackdown is going on against the elements involved in heinous crimes of human trafficking. No one is allowed to play with the lives of innocent people, he said, adding that the teams are conducting operations against human traffickers.

On the same day, Rawalpindi police conducted raids in different areas and rounded up seven accused on recovery of over 10 kg of hashish.

According to a police spokesman, Sadiqabad police held Ahsan for having 1435 grams of hashish, Adil with 1420 grams of hashish and Yasir for possessing 1,040 grams of hashish.

Gujar Khan police rounded up an accused named Gultasab and recovered 2,000 grams of hashish from his possession.
