District and health authorities in the twin cities have decided to launch a joint anti-dengue operation in response to the constant rise in dengue cases despite changing weather.
According to official sources, during a meeting held at the Ministry of Interior, the Rawalpindi Health Authority emphasised the need for anti-dengue measures within Islamabad's boundaries to prevent dengue mosquitoes from infiltrating Rawalpindi.
In response, the Islamabad Health Department affirmed its ongoing anti-dengue efforts but expressed readiness to collaborate in border areas adjacent to Captain Colonel Sher Khan Road.
Meanwhile, hospitals in Rawalpindi have reported a significant number of dengue patients from Islamabad.
According to DHA Chief Executive Dr Ijaz Ahmed, Rawalpindi district has been actively conducting its anti-dengue campaign. The current season has seen 1,224 confirmed dengue cases, with 45 new cases in the past 24 hours. Presently, 97 confirmed dengue patients are receiving treatment in three allied hospitals.
