In a thought-provoking social media post, renowned musician and singer Shehzad Roy took the time to type out his feelings about the treatment doctors offer to their patients, calling out the “humiliation” many face at the hands of healthcare professionals.

Through a post on his X account made recently, Roy called for the need of accountability against how healthcare workers interacted with their patients, requesting that doctors be more conscious of their words and tone when speaking to those who come to them for assistance.

He wrote, “We need to hold doctors accountable for how they speak to their patients. I’ve heard so many stories about how even renowned doctors humiliate their patients.”

The musician continued on to remind medics of the importance of kindness in the field, believing that it would be much more effective than a simple prescription assigned to a patient. He penned, “Docs, please remember that a kind word sometimes goes much further than any pill you can prescribe.”

However, this is not the first time Roy has spoken in relation to the healthcare system at large. As a Goodwill ambassador, the singer has been vocal about the need for family planning initiatives and education.

While pushing for an online course with the purpose of spreading awareness and empowering youth between the ages of 15 and 29, Roy’s motive was to help individuals make conscious and informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

The Laga Reh singer later took to X, known as Twitter at the time, to express his gratitude towards the concerned authorities for supporting and helping establish the initiative.
