‘Altaf recovering fast from illness’

Coordination committee says he’ll be home soon.

KARACHI: As former Sindh senior minister Zulfiqar Mirza continued his tirade against the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, the party said that its chief Altaf Hussain is fast recovering from his illness.

While the coordination committee said that Hussain will return home soon, reliable sources with the party said he had been discharged a couple of days ago and celebrated Eid at home.

Sources said he can be expected to address people via telephone in the next few days.

Eminent personalities phone Hussain

Politicians and other eminent personalities phoned Hussain to enquire about his well-being, including petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain, Jamiat Ulema-e Islam-Fazl leader and opposition leader in the Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and Jamhoori Watan Party leader Shahzain Bugti.

Hussain’s Eid message

On the occasion of Eid, Hussain said he prayed that Allah helps Pakistan overcome internal as well as external challenges and threats.

He prayed for the well-being of Muslims across the globe.

He said that the leaders of Muslim countries should manifest unity and struggle for the betterment and prosperity of their respective nations.
