Traffic wardens thwarted an attempted kidnapping of two children and handed over the alleged abductor to the police.

According to officials, Traffic Police officials Azhar Lodhi and Asad Rafiq were on duty at Newtown Circle on Murree Road when they noticed two children with a suspicious individual crying out for help. The traffic wardens intervened and halted the children and the person named Abid, who the children claimed was trying to forcibly take them with him.

The wardens took the accused and placed the children under protective custody, taking them to Chandni Chowk Checkpost. The suspect was subsequently taken to Sadiqabad police station for further legal proceedings.

According to SHO Sadiqabad Police Station, Abid asserted that he was taking the children for work, but further investigations are ongoing to clarify the situation.

CTO Taimur Khan announced a reward for Inspector Owais, Beat Officer Azhar Lodhi, and Asad for their role in thwarting the attempted kidnapping of the children.

The CTO emphasised that the traffic police continually strive to aid and safeguard citizens while ensuring uninterrupted traffic flow in the city.

on the same day, police arrested seven illegal arms holders and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession during a crackdown.

According to a police spokesman, Pirwadhai police recovered one pistol from Farhan. Similarly, Sadiqabad police recovered one pistol of 30-bore from Haris.

Saddar Wah police held Tayyab and recovered one pistol of 30-bore from his possession.

Following the operation, Mandra police recovered one pistol of 30-bore from Yousaf. Dhamyal police recovered one pistol of 30-bore from Usman.
