Peshawar crafts strategy against extortion calls

PESHAWAR:

A meeting focusing on the National Action Plan (NAP) implementation con­vened with Commissioner Peshawar Division, Mohammad Zubair, pre­siding. The primary agenda was to devise strategies to combat extortion calls.

Participants reached a consensus on a collabora­tive approach involving dis­trict administration, law enforcement agencies, and security forces to curb extor­tion, narcotics trade, illegal cell phone SIM distribution, and to crackdown on the hundi-hawala network.

The meeting attendees comprised deputy com­missioners (DCs) from all five districts, district police officers (DPOs), administrative officials from sensitive agencies, representatives from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). Special guests included Commander 102 Brigade and the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO).

Zubair emphasized the importance of translating decisions into actionable results.
