Official for enhancing Murree’s beauty
Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chatha Monday said there was a need to improve waste management, and recycling, and enhance the beauty of Murree.
During a meeting held at Kohsar University Murree, the commissioner directed education authorities to implement new educational programmes, with a focus on girls' education in the region. Vice Chancellor Dr Habib Bukhari and other university officials attended the meeting.
The Kohsar University vice chancellor briefed the commissioner about ongoing educational activities, proposed educational programmes, and laboratory setups.
The meeting discussed various proposals, including strategies for better waste management, recycling, and waste collection. They also explored ways to enhance Murree's aesthetic appeal, possibly through landscaping, street beautification, and improving the environment for residents and tourists.
The meeting also considered the possibility of setting up a museum on Mall Road.
The commissioner highlighted the positive impact of Kohsar University on regional students, emphasising the benefits of providing higher education within the region.
Commending the Kohsar University Murree VC for executing vital projects, the commissioner scheduled another meeting to ensure the effective implementation of the discussed measures.
