Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) Sunday recovered an abandoned bag on Trail-5 and discovered a hand grenade, a written note, a map, and bullets within the bag.
According to sources, a security alert was raised when a suspicious bag was reported.
Upon receiving information regarding the suspicious bag, police, and law enforcement personnel were swiftly mobilised, they said.
The bomb disposal squad promptly arrived at the scene and safely disposed of the hand grenade. Following this, a thorough search of the area, including an important government building, was conducted, and the entire area was declared secure after clearance.
In addition to the hand grenade, pistol bullets, and a written note were also retrieved from the bag. All items found in the bag have been relocated to a secure location for further investigation.
On the same day, the Phulgran police team arrested Nazar Rehman and recovered 120 grams of heroin from his possession.
Similarly, the Shahzad Town police team netted Adeel Saeed and Mian Ehatisham and recovered one 30-bore pistol with ammunition and 1210 grams of hashish.
Separate cases have been registered against the nabbed accused.
