Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz, while expressing delight on the impending return of her father on October 21, said on Saturday that those who conspired against Nawaz Sharif had become ‘minus’ themselves.
Addressing the party’s consultative meeting in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the PML-N senior vice-president equated the attempts of purportedly sidelining Nawaz from the political scene with the country’s dampening development, which she said was flourishing when the latter was the prime minister of the country, Express News reported.
Maryam mentioned her father as the “architect of Pakistan”, emphasising that by the former premier’s arrival, the prevailing despondency across the country would come to an end.
Maryam, who is considered the next in line after Nawaz to assume the rein of party, without referring to anyone, said the “conspirators” would bite the dust once Nawaz arrives in Pakistan.
She further claimed that by the arrival of her father, the people of Pakistan, who are already grappling with the effects of exorbitant inflation, would be relieved from the economic mess, adding that her father’s message is “development of Pakistan” and steering the country out of the current financial quagmire.

“Sharif is not coming back, the era of prosperity of Pakistan is coming back. Nawaz Sharif's message is the development of Pakistan, and to rid the people of inflation,” Maryam remarked.
Maryam also lauded her father for bearing “political victimisation” with bravery and perseverance and became triumphant against his opponents.
“By the grace of Almighty, Nawaz Sharif had saved the people from inflation, he was punished for serving the people. In 2016, development and reduction in inflation were snatched from the people. As a result of the conspiracy against Nawaz Sharif, the people got inflation. The conspirators did not want Pakistan to be economically strong,” she said, adding the people should be free from the slavery of inflation.
"October 21 is an announcement that the days of suffering of the people are coming to an end. Nawaz Sharif, who felt the pain of the poor, is coming back. Nawaz Sharif is the one during whose tenure the prices of flour, ghee and sugar did not change for five years.
“Nawaz Sharif is the one under whose tenure inflation came down to the lowest level in 47 years. Nawaz Sharif is the one who brought Pakistan's economic growth to 6.1 per cent,” she recalled while mentioning her father’s stint as the third time PM which came to an end following the Panama verdict in 2017.
She further claimed that Nawaz was the one who successfully completed Pakistan's only IMF programme. On the country’s overall economic situation which has been in dire straits, she once again viewed the discontinuity in the “journey of development” which she said would have perpetuated if Nawaz was not removed from the power.
“Had Nawaz Sharif's journey of development continued, Pakistan would not have been in crisis today and electricity, gas, petrol would not have been expensive today,” she argued.
Discussing the security situation of K-P, Maryam also pledged to start the development of progress from the province, saying simultaneously the challenges arisen from terrorism and economic terrorism must be addressed. She asserted that apart from terrorism, the nation has to be freed from "economic terrorism" as well.
Earlier, a consultative meeting was held under the chairmanship of Maryam Nawaz for the return and reception of Nawaz Sharif, in which preparations for the return of the party leader on October 21 were discussed. The participants said on the occasion that every party organisation would welcome Nawaz Sharif. The participants said that when Nawaz Sharif was removed, Pakistan and the people suffered poverty and the economic pain.
