At least two persons were killed and three others injured in two different horrifying incidents of violence in Tehsil Havelian on Monday.
According to police sources, in the first incident, which occurred in Batalla Village, one person was killed and three others sustained severe injuries.
According to reports, a violent clash erupted within the Batalla village of the Havelian Tehsil where two rival groups opened gunfire at each other. As a result, Asad Khan lost his life while Abrar Khan, Zeeshan and Mushtaq sustained critical injuries.
The police shifted the body and the injured to the Type-D Hospital and after medico-legal formalities handed over the body of the deceased to his family.
In a separate incident in the village of Havelian, unidentified assailants targeted and shot dead a shopkeeper, Malik Hanif.
The victim was in his shop when an unidentified suspect fired a gunshot, leading to his tragic demise. Locals immediately rushed to the scene upon hearing the gunshot and found that Hanif had already succumbed to his injuries.
The Havelian police registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.
ATC declares emergency
The administration of the Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH) Monday declared an emergency in response to the unfortunate bus accident in Kohistan which led to 27 individuals being brought to the emergency department.
This was disclosed by the ATH spokesperson Malik Saifur Rehman in a press statement. He said hospital director Dr Athar Lodhi along with a team was present at the hospital to monitor the emergency response.
The spokesperson said clear instructions have been issued to ensure that all necessary medical facilities and special care were provided to the injured in the Bisham bus accident.
The ATH has taken immediate action by mobilising its entire workforce, including personnel from various departments and the surgical unit, he added.
Rehman said the administration at the ATH has made arrangements to ensure a steady supply of essential medications and surgical disposables for the benefit of the injured patients.
