Railways seeks plan to boost revenue

Minister directed to submit a plan to dispose of unserviceable coaches, locomotives

LAHORE:

Caretaker Minister for Railways Shahid Ashraf Tarar has sought a comprehensive business plan to increase the revenue of Pakistan Railways.

Chairing a meeting here on Sunday, he directed to utilise all available resources efficiently besides conversion of all railways infrastructure on solar power.

He also directed to submit a plan to dispose of unserviceable coaches and locomotives.

The minister said, “Safe journey is the top priority and strict action will be taken in case of any negligence.”

The meeting decided to upgrade the post of Railway Police constable to Grade VII.

The minister was briefed about the performance of the department and the future reform plans.
