LAHORE:

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Friday that he has overcome cancer, citing favorable medical reports.

While speaking to Express News in London, Shehbaz expressed gratitude to Allah Almighty, attributing his recovery to both clear test results and the power of people’s prayers.

Family sources confirmed that Shehbaz had traveled to the UK on August 20, where he underwent a series of cancer-related tests.

They further revealed that Dr. Martin Kaplan, the physician who examined his reports, confirmed the negative status of the cancer test results.

In 2000, Shehbaz Sharif was diagnosed with an extremely rare and perilous form of cancer known as "Adenocarcinoid."

He subsequently received treatment over several months at the Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York in 2003.

Sources indicate that Shehbaz is slated to undergo additional tests at another London clinic before returning to Pakistan within the next two weeks.
