DIJKOT:

After registering a case against two brothers who had allegedly kept their divorced sister chained in the house for four months, the police mounted raids to arrest them.

The injured woman was shifted to the Allied Hospital.

In the case registered with the police by Iqra Niaz, daughter of Niaz Hussain, a resident of Street No. 19, Mahalla Nighabanpura, Police Station Sargodha Road, it was stated that she had gotten married to Saqib Raza in 2019.

In 2021, Saqib Raza had divorced her and she came to her parents’ house.

On May 15 this year, her brothers, Mubeen and Muhammad Asghar, kept her chained inside the house, intending to torture her.

“I remained in the custody of my brothers for four months and with great difficulty saved my life and reached the Allied Hospital,” she told the police.

The police were informed about the situation by the hospital administration.

The SHO of Sargodha Road Police Station, Basharat Hussain Awan, reached the spot, and on the statement of the woman, registered a case against her brothers.
