Defence Day ceremonies held across city

Civic circles, educationists and public representatives called for keeping alive the spirit of September 1965 to defend the country from external and internal challenges.

Besides the traditional change of guard at the Mazaar-e-Quaid, Defence Day ceremonies were held at various educational intuitions, public and private organisations to pay homage to the armed forces of the country for repelling the enemy’s attack on September 6, 1965.

Schools in particular organised functions featuring tableaus, posters and speeches to highlight the significance of defence forces in young minds.

Mayor Murtaza Wahab said that the day was a symbol of determination, courage and bravery of Pakistan Army that made the country’s defence invincible.

Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi District Central in collaboration with Human Rights Welfare Coordination organized program “Salaam Shuhada-e-Pakistan” on the occasion of Pakistan Defence Day. Town Nazim Muhammad Yousuf, Resident Director Bashir Sadozai, Human Rights General Secretary Saba Sheikh.
