Three held for child's murder

Police claim the prime suspect tried to frame his father in a murder case to grab his estate

KARACHI:

Three suspects have been arrested by the Supermarket police station investigation team in connection with the murder of a 7-year-old child named Muhammad Subhan.

Police alleged that the primary suspect, Ashar, along with his accomplices, committed this heinous act in an attempt to frame his own father in a murder case and grab his property.

Per police investigators, Muhammad Subhan had gone missing on August 24 within the jurisdiction of the Supermarket police station. Sadly, his lifeless body was discovered on August 25 in an underground water tank at an under-construction house in Liaquatabad, identified as house number A452/01.

Initial medical reports found no signs of abuse or violence on the child. Muhammad Imran, the father, filed a murder complaint with the police, initiating an investigation into the case.

During the course of the investigation, three individuals were apprehended: Muhammad Ismail, the watchman of the under-construction building, Muhammad Asim, the contractor, and Ashar, the owner's son. It was revealed that they were all involved in the child's murder.

Supermarket Investigation Officer Haroon Balu disclosed that Asim and Ashar were friends. They both had a connection to the under-construction building where the child's body was found.

Ashar had a shop in another under-construction building, and Ismail, the watchman, possessed one key to the site while Ashar held the other. Ashar's aunt had occupied the under-construction building's space, but he had convinced her to vacate it, promising her a flat in the newly constructed flats once they were completed.

Further details revealed a dispute between the owner of the under-construction house, Kazim, and his son Ashar. This led to Kazim evicting Ashar and making an agreement with another contractor named Saqib to complete and sell the house. Saqib paid Rs 1 million to Kazim as part of this agreement.

The police suspect that Ashar and Asim, the arrested individuals, murdered Muhammad Subhan by submerging him in the under-construction house's water tank. Their motive was to frame Kazim and Saqib for the child's murder, allowing them to take ownership of the house.

They intended to fulfil Ashar's promise to his aunt by providing her with a flat and selling the remaining ones. The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge as it progresses.
