1,764 medical centres on PHC radar

756 entities found involved in quackery either closed or transformed into other businesses

The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) has decided to keep 1,764 medical centres under surveillance after sealing 732 outlets of quacks during raids on 3,361 premises in 30 districts during the past month.

According to the commission, the raiding teams found 756 entities involved in quackery either closed or transformed into other businesses.

Another 96 previously identified quack outlets had begun offering treatment services under qualified physicians.

The enforcement teams sealed 112 outlets in Faisalabad, 56 in Sialkot, 52 in Jhang, 46 in Lahore, 40 in Sahiwal, and 32 in Kasur.

According to the commission’s spokesperson, PHC teams have conducted a total of 165,900 raids so far, resulting in the closure of 46,114 quackery outlets, with more than 37,300 of the businesses transitioning into legal enterprises.
