KHANEWAL:

Two suspects, involved in dozens of robberies and street crime cases across Khanewal and surrounding districts, were shot dead in an alleged police encounter in the riverine area of Sarai Sidhu, according to police sources.

The suspects, identified as Khairat alias Khairato and Zahid Mahana, were killed in an exchange of fire between police, the Counter Crime Department (CCD), and the armed outlaws. The operation was launched after intelligence reports confirmed the presence of the duo in the riverine belt near Sarai Sidhu.

As the law enforcement officials conducted a raid at their hideout, both suspects attempted to flee on horseback while opening fire at the raiding team.
