KARACHI:

Police in Karachi conducted a late-night raid on a guest house in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase IV, resulting in the arrest of 11 individuals, including five women.

The raid was conducted by Gizri police station on the night between Thursday and Friday. The owners of the guest house, identified as Rizwan Rahmani and Murtaza Baloch, managed to evade capture just moments before the police raid.

During the raid, police found the “guests” in “compromising situations”. During the search of the guest house on Khayaban-e-Shehbaz, police officials discovered bottles of liquor and hashish.

The suspects now face charges under section 294/34 for their involvement in obscene activities, as per the officials.

Police nabs two for drug trafficking

In a separate incident, Defence police successfully arrested two individuals, Adnan and Najeeb, on charges related to drug trafficking.

The police found 27 kilogrammes of hashish concealed in sacks within a khaki-coloured plastic bag during their inspection of a rickshaw being used by the suspects.

It is worth noting that both Adnan and Najeeb have a history of prior arrests linked to drug offences and have previously served sentences in jail.
