Attock Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Shaukat Tuesday ordered the registration of a case against Attock City SHO and other police personnel for their alleged involvement in a purported illegal raid at the house of former National Assembly Member Major Tahir Sadiq.
The plea was moved by Sardar Abdul Raziq Khan, the counsel for Major Tahir Sadiq and his domestic servant.
The petitioner argued that a team of police officers, led by City SHO, unlawfully entered his client’s residence at 1am on August 8 and conducted a search of the premises.
During their search, they reportedly assaulted the staff and repeatedly inquired about the whereabouts of Major Tahir Sadiq.

He further said they broke into the house, caused damage, and forcibly took away CCTV cameras and footage.
The plaintiff produced a video recording of the incident in court, arguing that it was a violation of the fundamental rights of his client on part of the police to conduct a search of his house without a warrant.
The court reviewed the video footage and concluded that the complainant's house was vandalised and a crime was committed.
Subsequently, the court ordered registration of a case against the accused under relevant charges.
