The Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested eight terror suspects linked with banned outfits during operations across the province on Saturday.

According to a CTD spokesman, the department conducted 74 intelligence-based operations in different districts of Punjab, in which 74 suspects were interrogated and eight terror suspects were arrested with weapons, explosives and other prohibited materials.

The arrested suspects were identified as Liaqat Khan, Muhammad Hasan, Shan Faraz, Gul Karim, Ayub Khan, Muhammad Umeer, Ameer Muawiya and Rizwan Siddiq and they belong to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Daesh, Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Al-Qaeda organisations. They were arrested in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan and Gujranwala.
