MANSEHRA:

A woman was allegedly murdered by her in-laws during a domestic dispute on Thursday. The victim’s father claimed that the accused tried to give the incident a suicide colouring to avoid legal proceedings.

According to sources, Muhammad Fareed while registering a case regarding the murder of his 26-year-old daughter informed the police that Nighat Bibi was married to Khurram four years ago and the couple did not have children. “During this time her husband and mother-in-law Amina Bibi used to fight with my daughter over domestic issues,” the complainant told the police.

Fareed accused his son-in-law of killing his daughter before hanging her body in the room to make it look like a suicide. “After torturing my daughter, her husband killed her and hanged her in the room to give an impression of a suicide,” the contents of the FIR read.

“Yesterday, Shabbir informed me on the phone that Nighat Bibi locked herself in the room since last night and was not opening the door after which I went to my daughter’s house and pushed open the door of the room where her body was hanging with the ceiling fan,” the complainant said.

Fareed alleged that the body had been tied to the fan with a small piece of cloth while there was no table or chair in the room, indicating that the victim did not commit suicide.
