Sindh's Caretaker Minister for Law and Religious Affairs and Human Rights, Barrister Mohammad Omer Soomro, in his initial meeting with department officers, outlined plans to adopt concrete measures to improve and strengthen the departments that fall under the ministry.
He discussed the upcoming reforms in the legal domain of Sindh, which will be presented for approval to the caretaker chief minister and, subsequently,to the governor.
Soomro stressed the need for nationwide dialogue in the current national context, extending beyond Karachi to all divisions of the province.
Expressing concern about the current state of the Human Rights Department, Soomro likened it to a post office and pledged to introduce meaningful improvements promptly.
He also revealed plans to empower district bar lawyers in the HR department to aid young lawyers in pursuing cases.
